Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that blends R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. Her career path has taken her from Broadway to European concerts and festivals up to her participation in the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical experience began at the church, where she sang and performed piano. She studied at Spellman College and began to study the R&B styles of Atlanta. The very first song to feature her voice was called Stalk You which was a song from Japan's house 12; since then it was remixed and has become a part of her set. The singer has also provided her vocals to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was the main piano player for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to serve as the choir leader of the production. Sunshine became famous throughout the four performances in 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine went on to sing during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
